Bouldering Walls

Climbing is a child's first exercise. Crawling leads to climbing stairs, onto furniture, and later, up trees. With the development of indoor climbing structures, climbing has become an accessible and exciting new exercise opportunity.

Climbing Walls

With generous support from the Kelley Family Foundation and REI, we have been able to fund mobile climbing walls that travel to parks all over the city throughout the summer.

Markham Program

For the past three summers, children from Somalia, Sudan, and Afghanistan gathered each weekday at southwest Portland's Markham Elementary School to take part in activities provided by the City of Portland's Bureau of Parks & Recreation (PP&R) staff, and funded by Portland Parks Foundation. Each year the program has grown in numbers and in substance.
