Rainwater Pavilion

A leaf of glass and steel floats above a corner of Tanner Springs Park, providing shelter from the rain for visitors as it recirculates the showers into the park's wetlands.

The Rainwater Pavilion is dedicated to Graham Clark, who served as a Senior Planner for the City of Portland until his death in 2005. After several years of determined effort by Graham's family and friends, in partnership with the Foundation and the City of Portland, the pavilion is a reality.

One third of the funds for the project came from the City and two thirds from private sources through our Foundation, with the total project cost close to $200,000. Private donations came from more than 60 individual donors who gave in Graham's name. The Pearl District Neighborhood Association contributed $4,500 toward the pavilion's construction as a tribute to the contributions Graham Clark made to the neighborhood.
